Zyla is an independently owned Head Spa in Leesburg, Virginia, created around a simple idea: caring for your scalp can be both intentional and deeply relaxing.
Our Japanese-inspired Head Spa experiences bring together thoughtful scalp care, specialized products, mindful techniques and deep relaxation in a private, tranquil setting. Each experience is personalized with attention to the individual needs of your scalp and hair while giving you something that can be difficult to find in everyday life—time to slow down, reset and simply be.
As Zyla continues to grow, so does our approach to scalp and hair wellness. What began with Head Spa is evolving through continued education and a deeper understanding of the many factors that can influence the health and appearance of the scalp and hair.

OUR STORY
It started with Head Spa.
It’s growing into something more.
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for nearly 30 years, but my career didn't follow a traditional path behind the chair. For many years, I worked in employee health and wellness, an experience that shaped the way I think about self-care, well-being and caring for the whole person.
My path back into the beauty industry eventually led me to Head Spa. I was drawn to the experience of bringing scalp care and deep relaxation together, and that vision became Zyla Head Spa.
But the more I learned about the scalp and worked with clients, the more questions I had. I was seeing clients concerned about shedding, thinning, buildup, irritation and changes in their scalp and hair, and I wanted to better understand what could be contributing to what we were seeing.
My own experience made those questions even more meaningful. Changes in my hair and scalp eventually led me to recognize that there could be multiple factors involved rather than one simple explanation. That experience sparked an even deeper interest in understanding the connection between the scalp, hair and what may be happening within the body.
That curiosity has led me to continue my education in trichology, exploring areas such as scalp health, hair loss and thinning, nutrition, hormones, stress, medications, lifestyle and other factors that may influence the hair-growth environment.
Today, Head Spa remains at the heart of Zyla, but my vision continues to grow. I’m excited to bring together the relaxation and scalp care Zyla is known for with a deeper, more comprehensive approach to scalp and hair wellness.

Amy
Founder + Owner | Senior Head Spa SpecialistAmy is a licensed cosmetologist with nearly 30 years of experience in the beauty industry and the founder of Zyla Head Spa. She holds advanced Head Spa and scalp-care training, including Milbon Advanced Head Spa Certification and certification in the YUME Mindful Fieldbook Method™ through Eikonic Academy.
Her continued education in trichology reflects a growing focus on better understanding hair loss, thinning and scalp concerns and the many factors that may influence scalp and hair wellness.
At Zyla, Amy combines thoughtful scalp care, continued education and a genuine love for creating an experience where guests can slow down, relax and feel cared for.

Kumsal is a licensed cosmetologist and Head Spa Specialist who brings a calm, attentive approach to every Zyla experience. She has completed extensive hands-on training in Zyla’s Head Spa protocols and is certified in the YUME Mindful Fieldbook Method™ through Eikonic Academy.
With a focus on personalized care and attention to detail, Kumsal creates an experience designed to help each guest feel comfortable, cared for and completely at ease. She also offers professional blow-dry services and is bilingual in Turkish and English.
