What is a CSP?

A Clinical Study Participant (CSP) takes part in a structured case-study process completed as part of Amy's advanced trichology training.

The process provides an opportunity for Amy to apply her education in a real-world setting while documenting and following each participant's hair and scalp journey over time.

Participation is limited and based on specific case-study criteria and training requirements.

What to expect.

  • 01 — YOUR STORY

A detailed consultation to understand what you've been experiencing, your hair and scalp history, routines, lifestyle and other factors that may help provide context.

  • 02 — OUTSIDE IN

A comprehensive scalp assessment using magnified imaging and assessment tools to take a closer look at the scalp environment, hair and visible characteristics.

  • 03 — INSIDE OUT

Looking beyond the scalp to consider nutrition, stress, hormones, medications, lifestyle and other factors that may be relevant to your individual hair and scalp concerns.

THE ZYLA APPROACH

Outside in. Inside out.

Hair and scalp concerns don't always have a single contributing factor. Our approach looks at what we can observe on the hair and scalp, while also considering the bigger picture and factors that may be influencing hair growth from within.

OUTSIDE IN

A closer look at the hair and scalp—including the scalp environment, visible irritation, buildup, oil balance, hair density, shedding patterns and other observable characteristics.

INSIDE OUT

Looking beyond the scalp to consider how factors such as nutrition, stress, hormones, medications, lifestyle and health history may be relevant to your individual hair and scalp concerns.

Because what we see on the surface is only one part of the story.

COULD THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

Have you noticed changes in your hair?

You don't need to know what's causing the changes you're experiencing to express interest in becoming a Clinical Study Participant.

CHANGES IN DENSITY
  • Does your part seem wider than it used to?

  • Can you see more of your scalp through your hair?

  • Does your ponytail feel smaller or thinner?

  • Have you noticed gradual thinning through the top or crown?

  • Does hair thinning run in your family?

INCREASED SHEDDING
  • Are you losing noticeably more hair than usual?

  • Are you finding more hair in the shower or on your brush?

  • Does the shedding seem to be happening throughout your scalp?

  • Did the shedding begin after pregnancy, illness, surgery, significant stress or rapid weight loss?

  • Did you notice increased shedding after starting a new medication or GLP-1 medication?

You don't have to relate to every question. These are simply some of the hair changes we're interested in learning more about through the Clinical Study.

INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING?

Tell us a little about yourself.

Zyla will be selecting a limited number of individuals to participate in upcoming Clinical Study case studies as part of our continued education in trichology.

To be considered, participants must be 18 years of age or older, be available to attend three in-person appointments at Zyla in Leesburg, Virginia—one visit per week during the last two weeks of October and the first week of November—and be comfortable with photography and video recording as part of the case study and related content creation.

Please complete the form below to tell us a little about what you've been experiencing with your hair and scalp. Your responses will help us determine whether your concerns may align with the Clinical Study criteria.

Submitting this form does not guarantee selection. If your information appears to be a potential fit, Zyla will contact you with additional details and next steps.
